The Sanctuary of the Basilica Della Ghiara:
A peculiarity of the Basilica is the extraordinary series of frescoes and altar pieces executed by the best artists of 17th century Emilia including Ludovico Carracci, Gianfrancesco Barbieri (Il Guercino) and Luca Ferrari. Not to be missed is the room holding the holy vestments and fabrics from the 16th to the 19th century; the Ghiara's treasures are composed of relics, chalices and highly valuable votive offerings.

The National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines:
More than the half of the whole area of the park is situated in the territory around Reggio Emilia. The park extends along the Apennines of Reggio to some of the highest mountains, including Cusna Mount, Prado Mount and Alp of Succiso, which are more than 2000 m high. In the park it is possible to immerse yourself in nature and see several types of rare plants and animals living at high altitudes.
